Conclusion

As modified by Okuda, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography is a simple, rapid, painless and inexpensive technique. The quality of images obtained is as good as that provided by other cholangiographic methods, with fewer complications and a greater degree of success. This method should be used following clinical examination and laparoscopy.
