Ľenseignement de ľendoscopie digestive en Italie

Résumé

En Italie, nous disposons de deux écoles de postgraduat : Gastroentérologie et Endoscopie Digestive et ďautre part : Chirurgie Digestive et Endoscopie Chirurgicale. Le premier cours dure quatre ans, le second cinq ans. Pour aucune des deux spécialisations, il n’est prévue de formation préparatoire en connaissances générales (médecine interne, chirurgie générale). Jusqu’à ľannée académique passée, ľenseignement était purement théorique. Ľannee académique en cours (1991-92) verra ľintroduction du numerus clausus ce qui entraîne une réduction du nombre de résidents. Ľensemble de médecins admis devront entrer dans une école médicale à plein temps et le stage sera honoré ďun salaire. La réduction significative du nombre de résidents permettra de modifier fondamentalement ľorganisation courante de deux postgraduat en gastroentérologie et en chirurgie digestive : à part ľexigence ďun statut de plein temps, les méthodes ďévaluation à la fin du cours n’ont pas encore été décidées. On doit espérer que comme c’est le cas dans ďautres pays, un carnet de stage devra être tenu à jour, assurant ľexécution ďun nombre bien établi de techniques.

Summary

In Italy we have two post-graduate schools : gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy an Digestive Surgery and Surgical Endoscopy. The former course is four years long, the latter five years. For neither of the two specilities is preparatory training in a general subject required (internal medicine, general surgery). Up until this past academic year the teaching was purely theoretical. The next academic year (1991-92) will see the introduction of « planned number » system with the effect of reducing the number of residents. All those doctors who are admitted will attend the medical school full time and will receive a salary. The clear reduction in the number of residents will modify the current didactic organization. As yet, apart from the fulltime study requirement, the methods of examination to be used on conclusion of the course have not yet been decided. It is to be hoped that as happens in other countries-the logbook will be introduced with a set number of procedures to be carried out.
