Summary
Diagnostic and therapeutic digestive endoscopy has developed considerably over the last few years. One of its advantages being the outpatient nature of most of its procedures.
Its results, its quality, its acceptability are now linked to the patient’s management allowing pre-medication, sedation or even general anesthesia.
In a field where the anesthetist never intervened in the past, a multidisciplinary approach must be thought out which can be defined both concerning the way in which the preocedures themselves take place and for the pre and post endoscopic obligations.
