A propos de cinq observations de cancer de l'œsophage au début et de leur confrontation avec celles de la littérature, les auteurs soulignent les conditions d'un tel diagnostic précoce et insistent sur la nécessité de définir une politique de dépistage, seul élément permettant actuellement d'espérer une amélioration du taux de survie à cinq ans.

Summary

With respect to five cases of early invasive carcinoma of the esophagus and collating those to previous reports, the authors stress the technical conditions of an early diagnosis; they emphasize the necessity of defining a policy of early detection which seems as practically the sole element that might allow hope for improvement of the low fifth years survival rate.
