Hypertrophic tuberculosis of the Bauhin’s valve confirmed bacteriologically by coloscopy. Case report

  • Published:
Acta Endoscopica

Summary

Rare in the West, intestinal tuberculosis still poses diagnostic problems among immigrants, particularly Asians. Colonoscopy rarely provides histological and bacteriological proof of diagnosis. The authors report a particular case which was bacteriologically confirmed by endoscopic macrobiopsy and whose favourable development under antibiotherapy was endoscopically found.
