The (X0 → 3π) vertex has been previously estimated byS. Matsuda andG. Oppo:Phys. Rev.,188, 2308 (1969), while considering the question of the violation of the |ΔI|=1/2 rule in the K$π decay, where a satisfactory agreement with the experimental violation parameter was obtained by considering the simple model K 02 → η0(X0) → 3π. However the theoretical estimate given in that paper was, as stated there, very inaccurate due to the large experimental uncertainty in the violation parameters.
TheΓ(X0) total width had also been estimated in ref. (1), by using independent inputs. Namely, we tookx exp, the |ΔI|=1/2 violation parameter, and the experimental Γ(K 02 →2γ) as the input, and use a pseudoscalar-meson model for both processes. We obtainedΛ(X0) total ≃0.935 MeV andΛ(X0 → 2γ) ≃ 60 keV, in satisfactory agreement with the result obtained in the present paper.
