Abstract
In this paper the line spring model taking account of arbitrary loads on crack surfaces, and the corresponding constitutive relations, are proposed. The general expressions of the additional outfield loads, which are equivalent to the distributed loads on crack surfaces, are derived. The model is used to compute stress intensity factors in a hollow cylinder with an axial surface crack subjected to thermal shock. Several results of calculations are presented and discussed.
