Summary
In macular corneal dystrophy the epithelial cells display increased activity: they produce proteins and glucosaminoglucans. This may lead to the synthesis of collagen and of pathologic proteoglugans.

Bei den fleckförmigen Hornhautdystrophie zeigen die Epithelzellen eine erhöhte Aktivität: sie produzieren Proteine und Glycosaminoglycanen. Dies soll zu Kollagen- und pathologischer Proteoglycan-Synthese führen.
