Abstract
The agricultural influence on the quality of the groundwater in Sweden is mostly associated with infiltration areas. The local conditions here determine the extent of the nitrate leakage. It is evident that certain combinations of factors in normal cropping can give unduly high nitrate concentrations in the groundwater.
