Abstract
This descriptive study of 28 transsexual patients reports on prevalence, age, marital status, sex, occupation, religion, referral agent, and age of onset of transsexualism. Other aspects include cross-dressing, homosexual activity, personal and family history of psychiatric illness, and childparent relationships. These variables are correlated with a view toward understanding epidemiological and clinical issues.
