Abstract
It had been shown previously [1–3] that commercial A12O3 promoted with boron fluoride is an active catalyst for the alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons with olefins. In this article, we are presenting results from a study of the alkylation of toluene with ethylene and propylene, directed toward the production of ethyltoluenes and cymenes.
