Abstract
A simple autocorrelation scheme for measurement of single ultrashort light pulses in the 1–500 ps range is proposed. Only a diffraction grating and a mirror are utilized to obtain a variable time delay between two collinear beams. The advantages of the proposed method and the effect of the grating dispersion on the autocorrelator performance are discussed.
