Summary
An unique ependymoma of the filum terminale with intracytoplasmic secretory granules has been identified by light and electron microscopy. A striking structural and histochemical similarity exists between the tumor secretory product and that found in the secretory system present in the terminal portion of the spinal cord of the fish. The function and site of action of the secretory product is unknown.
