Summary
Traumatic lesion of the superior tibio-fibular joint is probably less unusual than the paucity of the published reports suggests. Complete rupture of joint ligaments is followed by forward, backward or rarely proximal dislocation of the head of the fibula. In most instances treatment is easily accomplished. 3 cases are described.
