Abstract
A method is proposed for calculating the fatigue strength of screws in submersible centrifugal pumps under a tipping torque, with allowance for the contact pliability of the thread turns and the flanges. Pump reliability may be increased by improving the finish of the contacting flange surfaces and by repeated tightening of the screws.
