Abstract
In order to eliminate the influence of atmospheric adsorption, the surface free energy of some metal substrates is determined under conditions of selective wetting. The dependence of obtained values on surface tension of used neutral hydrocarbon is found. A well-defined hydrophobicity of these surfaces before and after thermal oxidation is established.
