Abstract
2-(3-acylphenyl)amino-4-phenylthiazoles were synthesized from 1-(3-acetylphenyl)thiourea and 2-bromo-1-substituted phenylethanones in presence of triethylamine upon heating. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, MS spectrometry. All products were evaluated for their antibacterial activity against Gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis) and Gram negative (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pnemoniae) strains.
