Abstract
The effect of the nature of the sorbent, molecular structure, and composition of the mobile phase on retention of benzotriazole derivatives was studied. Variation of the acetonitrile concentration in the eluent led to a considerable increase in the retention index of these substances, especially for Hypercarb and hypercrosslinked polystyrene. This is explained by the contribution of specific π–π interactions between the aromatic fragments of sorbates and hypercrosslinked polystyrene to sorption or by the polar retention effect for Hypercarb.
