Abstract
The closing chapter draws together the themes of participation, citizenship and intergenerational relations. The authors’ contributions to developing effective practice are highlighted, together with a reflection on the process of facilitating children’s and young people’s participation in the writing and editing The chapter closes with a discussion of the key ways to achieve the participation of children and young people in research with them and about their concerns. Accountability, which is central to achieving children and young people’s citizenship, and is a mechanism for moving towards intergenerational relations to enable children’s participation rights to become a reality.
