Abstract
This introduction presents a short overview of the various chapters, and illustrates the types of issues this volume covers. The book is divided into two parts. The first part offers a general perspective on competitive dynamics, discusses its main constructs, comments on their meaning and how they have been measured empirically (Chapter 1). The chapters in the second part deal with specific issues related to the dynamics of competitive strategy in technology intensive industries, and in the mobile phone industry in particular (Chapters 2–5). The final chapter (Chapter 6) provides an overall summary and suggests new directions for research.
