Abstract
The year 2025 is quite close at hand; hence, any attempts at predicting future developments automatically assume the absence of dramatic change and, upon making minor adjustments, project the current trends into the future. This approach underlies a number of studies. In 2008 and 2012, the US National Intelligence Council published reports on global trends for the years 2025 and 2030. In 2011, a similar project entitled ‘Strategic Global Forecast 2030’ was completed in Russia by the Moscow Institute of World Economics and International Relationships.
