Abstract
Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies have become instrumental in the evolution and advancement of smart cities. As data generation across various sectors of society continues to rise, ensuring data security and quality poses an increasing challenge. The seamless integration of IoT and Big Data presents an intriguing and innovative opportunity to realize futuristic smart cities. This article analyzes the role of Big Data and IoT technologies in relation to smart cities, examining their benefits, challenges, and prospects. The primary contribution of this work lies in presenting the advantages that smart cities stand to gain from Big Data and IoT, as well as outlining the challenges faced and offering insights into future trends of IoT and Big Data within the context of smart cities.
