Abstract

There were many changes brought by a wireless communication system in the modern era. Advanced techniques in the wireless networks have made antennas an unavoidable element in the communication sector. These antennas can be used for WLAN, WiMAX applications. A quad-band CPW-fed antenna for WLAN/WiMAX, and satellite applications are conferred during this work. The proposed antenna is composed of a CPW-fed line and a vertical striped rectangular ring monopole. The overall size of the proposed antenna is 19 mm × 36 mm imprinted on 1.6 mm thickness substrate. The substrate is an FR4 epoxy layer with dielectric constant 4.4. The proposed antenna is simulated using Ansys HFSS, and various parameters are calculated. This antenna was designed to operate at four resonating frequencies 2.5, 3.4, 5.04 and 7.6 GHz which might be used for various wireless applications and satellite applications.
