Abstract
Since the safety accidents related to gas storage facilities in China and abroad mainly occur during the operation phase, in order to ensure the service safety of gas storage facilities throughout their life cycles, i.e., from design to construction to operation to scrapping, the operation phase of a gas storage facility is the key period. This chapter focuses on the integrity of the actual operation process of gas storage facilities and proposes a monitoring system involving specific measures, such as trap sealing, wellbore production performance, gas reservoir content fluid migration, and surface-supporting facilities. In addition, gas tree, casing and tubing, gathering pipeline, pipeline detection methods, and post integrity evaluation methods are discussed. Finally, remedial measures for after the integrity of a gas storage facility fails are proposed.
