Abstract
Acquiring the right talent during the recruitment process is a vital HR management function. Particularly sourcing, screening, and hiring talented employees are critical strategic decisions for the growth of an organization. Recruiters devote a lot of energy to pursue and assess the credentials of prospective candidates. The drudgery involved in shortlisting, interviewing, and evaluating prospective candidates, if automated through AI can be a game-changer. AI can access the data available on digital platforms to evaluate candidates’ relevant traits for the suitable position. Its utility in understanding candidates’ perspectives and preferences past customary resumes can be insightful for the recruiter. Artificial intelligence eliminates human bias while facilitating candidate engagement through chatbots and automating initial queries. Since processes that are repetitive and mundane in nature are delegated to artificial intelligence, recruiters can focus more on retaining the right talent than attracting and finding them. The present book chapter aims to review various benefits of adopting AI-based processes in the recruitment industry and their possible implications. This study describes how artificial intelligence has streamlined and revolutionized the hiring and recruitment processes, leading to efficiency and qualitative benefits for both organization and the prospective employee.
