Abstract
Internet of Things (IoT) is the most significant revolutionary technology in the development of smart applications. Data is increasing at a rapid rate as the IoT expands. If more data is stored and retrieved from the cloud, the delay will increase. Subsequently, the security of IoT data is a big issue because the data is shared over insecure networks. Fog computing (FC) is a distributed computing model that provides storage, computing, and networking services. Fog nodes have minimal computing power as well. Blockchain technology (BT) is a secured technology that creates a hyper-distributed, public, and authentic ledger to track transactions. In this area, the combination of fog, blockchain, and IoT creates a new possibility. This article aims to provide readers with a better understanding of the issues involved in securing the future of digital infrastructure. A careful analysis of security requirements for fog-enabled IoT devices is also presented. We also discuss the interrelationships between blockchain and fog computing as a crucial facilitator for addressing numerous security-related challenges in IoT applications.
