Abstract
The Yuan Dynasty Sandao Gang shipwreck in Suizhong was discovered in late 1980s, which was the first scientific underwater archaeological excavation conducted by Chinese archaeologists. It is of great significance to the historical studies of ancient navigation, maritime trade, and ceramics in the Bohai Rim, as well as the underwater archaeology in its start phase in China. The cargo are mainly porcelain and iron wares. The sunken area is an important part of the ancient shipping routes. It plays an important role in the trade system in the Bohai Rim in north China. It reflects the highly developed commodity circulation in the Yuan Dynasty and the cultural, social, and economic exchanges in northeast Asia in the 14th century.
