Abstract
The demand for smart healthcare systems have paved a way for IoT based devices to emerge in the medicine industry. This chapter explores the way smart healthcare can be developed with the use of IoT based wireless technologies. The lack of efficiency in traditional healthcare system is the main reason why smart devices should be introduced for a better treatment and for better facilities that include security, affordability and other parameters, which are discussed in this chapter in detail. Some of the benefits of a smart healthcare system include treatments without any delay, communication in an emergency, and maintaining the track of a patient’s health status without having to visit the hospital on a frequent basis. Because the use of IoT devices in the Healthcare industry has both benefits and drawbacks, this chapter delves into how each difficulty is met with a solution and examines the latter.
