Abstract
The roots of the term, pandemic, entered into English in the latter stages of a plague in the late seventeenth century and may be traced etymologically to the Greek pandemos, an incident or disease pertaining to “all people” (Oxford English Dictionary). The present volume has been the product of a proposal to offer topical perspectives on COVID-19: a disease, which by its sweeping character.
