Abstract

The objective of the present study is to analyze and evaluate the performance of audio data for wireless voice over IP (VoIP) proposed model utilizing wavelet transform. The performance was approximated with the subsequent procedure. Firstly, the recorded audio data was decomposed up to four levels by means of wavelet transform. The parameters such as signal/noise ratio (SNR), peak S/N ratio (PSNR), normalized root mean square error (NRMSE), percentage of retained signal energy (PRSE), and compression ratio were used to investigate the performance. Additionally, transmission capabilities were also analyzed using packet loss and delay. From simulation results, it was concluded that Coiflet performs the best at the first and the third decomposition levels, while Haar and Db8 perform the best among the other wavelets at the second and the fourth decomposition levels. Finally, ANOVA statistical tool has been investigated to test the effectiveness of recorded data.
