Abstract
This chapter argues that racial prejudice, Eurocentric curriculum, and low teacher expectations, negatively impact the achievement of African/Black children in North America and Britain. Consequently, these children are subjected to emotional and symbolic violence; this is detrimental to their wellbeing.
