Abstract
Spotlight on China: Changes in Education under China’s Market Economy is a rich overview of Chinese education in an important and difficult period of historical transition and major reform. Shibao Guo and Yan Guo have brought together insightful chapters on the broad array of issues ranging from the ongoing challenges of school and curriculum reform; population growth and mobility; teacher education and work; an emergent private education sector; and, a burgeoning higher education sector.
