Abstract
A humanoid robot has body shape resemble to a human body. Among a number of research aspects on humanoid robotics, this part of the book especially focuses on its mechanism and design. This part tries to address the mechanism and design of all the body parts of a humanoid robot such as the head, torso, arms, hands, legs, and feet. In this chapter, we first address its historical aspects and then briefly outline the mechanism and design of humanoid robots addressed in this part.
