Zusammenfassung
Unternehmen sind mehr denn je mit ihren Entscheidungen und ihrem Agieren einem permanenten Beobachtungs-, Bewertungs- und Kommentierungsprozess seitens der verschiedensten gesellschaftlichen Interessens- und Anspruchsgruppen in einem öffentlich-politischen Raum ausgesetzt. Internet und Social Media verstärken dabei maßgeblich die Intensität und Geschwindigkeit dieser Prozesse. Das erfolgreiche Erkennen und das aktive Management solcher Prozesse nicht nur in kommunikativer, sondern strategischer Hinsicht, werden vor diesem Hintergrund zur conditio sine qua non erfolgreichen Unternehmertums. Der Ansatz des Issues Managements, der seit den 90er Jahren in der Literatur und in jüngerer Zeit mehr und mehr in der unternehmerischen Praxis rezipiert wird, bietet – verstanden als Management-System und als -Prozess – wertvolle Unterstützung, diese Herausforderungen zu bestehen.
