Abstract
Carl Pelz nait en 1845 à B˘elec (Bohème). Après des études secondaires à Rakonitz, il intègre en 1869 l’Institut polytechnique de Prague où il suit les cours de Wilhelm Friedler et fait la connaissance de Emil et Eduard Weyr. Il enseigne dans un premier temps à l’Institut technique (Technische Hochschule) de Graz, d’abord comme Privatdozent (1876-1878), puis comme professeur extraordinaire (1878-1881), et enfin comme professeur ordinaire de géométrie (Geometrie der Lage et Angewandte Darstellende Geometrie) (1881-1896). En 1896, il est nommé professeur de géométrie descriptive à l’Institut technique de Prague. Il décède à Prague en 19081.
