Zusammenfassung
Die Kreislaufwirtschaft beschreibt ein Lebenszyklusmodell, in dem vorhandene Materialien und Produkte so lange wie möglich geteilt, geleast, wiederverwendet, repariert, aufgearbeitet und recycelt werden sollen. Im Aktionsplan der Europäischen Kommission zur Kreislaufwirtschaft, der EU Ökodesign-Richtlinie (2009/125/EG) und der Sustainable Product Initiative (SPI) der Europäischen Kommission werden klare Aussagen gemacht, wie die Prinzipien der Kreislaufwirtschaft in die bestehende Produktumweltgesetzgebung integriert werden sollen und neue Regelungswerke entstehen sollen. Zahlreiche internationale und europäische Normungsvorhaben bei ISO, IEC, CEN und CENELEC entstehen aus der Motivation heraus, Kreislaufwirtschaftsprinzipien mit einer zirkulären Unternehmensstrategie und (Umwelt-)Managementsystemen in Einklang zu bringen.
