Zusammenfassung
Die hier angesprochene „invasive“ Schmerztherapie diskutiert ausschließlich Methoden, welche die Zerstörung von einzelnen Nerven oder Nervenplexus bezwecken. Nach rezenter Terminologie, sollte diese Art der Schmerztherapie jedoch eher als „minimal invasiv“ bezeichnet werden. Die angesprochenen Methoden umfassen die Chemoneurolyse durch die Injektion von neurolytischen Substanzen wie Phenol, Phenol-Glycerin, Äthylalkohol, die Zerstörung von Nervengewebe durch physikalische Methoden wie Hochfrequenzstrom, Ultraschall sowie Kryolyse. Alle bis hier angesprochenen Methoden führen letztlich zur Zerstörung von Nerven, Nervenplexus und/oder Neuronen, wobei grundsätzlich davon auszugehen ist, dass diese Läsionen irreversibel sind. Dementsprechend eng und vorsichtig muss die Indikation zur neurolytisch-invasiven Schmerztherapie gestellt werden, da ja mit der Zerstörung von Nervengewebe ein bleibender Funktionsverlust einhergeht.
