Zusammenfassung

Die gesundheitliche Bedeutung von Ausdauer und Ausdauertraining ergibt sich aus der epidemiologisch gesicherten weltweiten Abnahme der aeroben Kapazität im Kindesalter. Aus leistungsorientierter Sicht bildet eine gute Ausdauerleistung nicht nur für die klassischen Ausdauerdisziplinen, sondern auch für die Mannschafts- und Rückschlagspiele sowie für viele andere Sportarten eine wichtige Grundlage. Physiologisch besitzen Kinder aufgrund ihrer hohen aeroben Kapazität und der raschen Sauerstoffkinetik gute Voraussetzungen für variable Dauerbelastungen, extensive Intervallbelastungen und für Intervallsprints. Aus psychologischer Sicht sind diese Methoden kindgemäß und freudvoll in der Praxis umzusetzen. Eine valide Leistungsdiagnostik ist aufgrund der physiologischen und biomechanischen Einflüsse des Entwicklungsalters auf klassische Parameter (z. B. Sauerstoffaufnahme und Blutlaktatkonzentration) erschwert. Folglich ist eine gut kontrollierte Weg/Zeit-bezogene Erfassung der Ausdauerleistung (z. B. durch verschiedene akustisch gesteuerte Beep-Tests) vorzuziehen.
