Zusammenfassung
Das Thema Diversity ist aktuell sehr prominent in den Medien vertreten. Gleichzeitig arbeiten immer mehr Personen mit unterschiedlichstem Hintergrund und Herkunft gemeinsam an den verschiedensten Projekten. Der Forschungszweig, welcher Bezug auf die Leistungsfähigkeit von Gruppen mit Teammitgliedern unterschiedlichster Merkmale nimmt, ist die Diversity-Forschung. Die bisherige Forschung zeigt, dass Team-Diversity sowohl positive als auch gleichzeitig negative Effekte auf die Arbeitsergebnisse haben kann. Ob nun homogene Teams eher heterogenen Teams vorzuziehen sind, soll in diesem Kapitel geklärt werden. Weitere wichtige offene Fragen, welche hier diskutiert werden, lauten: Welche Aspekte müssen beachtet werden, wenn man Teams zusammenstellt? Welche Maßnahmen gibt es, um hoch diverse Gruppen zu optimalen Ergebnissen zu führen? Welche Charakteristika von Mitarbeiter*innen in Gruppen haben welchen Einfluss auf die Arbeitsleistung? Dabei werden zunächst allgemeine Befunde der Diversity-Forschung dargestellt und im Anschluss wird der Schwerpunkt auf innovationsförderliche Aspekte der Arbeitsleistung gelegt.
