Zusammenfassung
Die pädiatrische Notfall- und Intensivmedizin hat in den vergangenen Jahren deutlich an Aufmerksamkeit hinzugewonnen. Sie umfasst Diagnose, Prävention sowie die Behandlung aller Formen des Versagens vitaler Funktionen. Das Management lebensbedrohlich erkrankter Kinder mit Krankheitsbildern aus allen pädiatrischen Fachbereichen (Allgemeinpädiatrie, Neuropädiatrie, Kinderkardiologie, Kinderonkologie, Kinderchirurgie, Neurochirurgie etc.) vom Säugling bis hin zum Jugendlichen ist komplex und in vieler Hinsicht herausfordernd. Die Betreuung kritisch kranker Kinder auf einer speziell dafür ausgelegten Station mit hochmoderner apparativer Ausstattung erfordert ein multiprofessionelles Team, das neben speziell geschulten und qualifizierten ärztlichen wie pflegerischen Mitarbeitern auch Physiotherapeuten, Psychologen, Sozialarbeiter, Greätetechniker u. v. m. umfasst.
