Zusammenfassung

Die Mortalität und Morbidität nach thoraxchirurgischen Operationen werden im Wesentlichen durch die postoperativen Komplikationen bestimmt. Deswegen ist neben einer korrekten Indikationsstellung und Operationstechnik die Erkennung und das Management von Komplikationen entscheidend. Wichtigste Grundlagen um Morbidität und Mortalität möglichst gering zu halten sind hierbei eine frühzeitige Erkennung der Komplikation sowie die rasche Einleitung einer adäquaten Gegenmaßnahme. Zur Klassifizierung kann man allgemeine Komplikationen von chirurgischen Komplikationen nach thoraxchirurgischen Eingriffen trennen.
