Zusammenfassung
Das Ziel der Leitlinien und Empfehlungen der wissenschaftlichen Fachgesellschaften und Verbände ist die Verbesserung der Qualität und Sicherheit der innerklinischen Behandlungsprozesse durch die Vermeidung bzw. Früherkennung und Behandlung von drohenden Komplikationen. Grundlage für die Einführung von Medizinischen Einsatzteams (MET) als wesentlicher Teil eines innerklinischen Notfallmanagement-Konzeptes sind die Ergebnisse von internationalen Observationsstudien, die eine signifikante Reduktion von vital bedrohlichen Komplikationen, ungeplanten Intensivstationsaufenthalten und Krankenhaussterblichkeit gezeigt haben. Diese waren auch Anstoß für die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Anästhesiologie und Intensivmedizin, zusammen mit der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Chirurgie und den Berufsverbänden 2017 eine gemeinsame Empfehlung zur Förderung der Etablierung von METs zu publizieren, die sowohl die Alarmierungskriterien als auch strukturelle Voraussetzungen beinhaltet.
