Zusammenfassung
Medizinische Einsatzteams (MET) sind in vielen europäischen Ländern Bestandteil der Regelversorgung in Krankenhäusern. In diesem Kapitel werden die internationalen Entwicklungen dargestellt und die Einführung von METs in Großbritannien und den Niederlanden im Detail analysiert: Transparenz im Krankenhauswesen, Offenheit im Umgang mit Komplikationen und politischer Wille zur Verbesserung von klinischen Auskommen sind wichtige Rahmenbedingungen für die Einführung von METs und um maximalen Impact zu erreichen. Neue Methoden der vergleichenden Forschung können helfen, die Effekte von METs in anderen Ländern mit denen in Deutschland zu vergleichen.
