Zusammenfassung
Im folgenden Beitrag wird die Verbreitung von körperlich aktivem, inaktivem und sitzendem Verhalten in verschiedenen Altersgruppen der deutschen Bevölkerung erörtert und die Bedeutung der Big-Five-Persönlichkeitsdimensionen für diese Verhaltensweisen und die Gesundheit diskutiert. Es werden Befunde zu den Zusammenhängen zwischen den fünf Persönlichkeitsdimensionen Offenheit, Gewissenhaftigkeit, Extraversion, Verträglichkeit, Neurotizismus und verschiedenen Gesundheitsparametern sowie körperlich aktivem, inaktivem und sitzendem Verhalten präsentiert. Es wird angenommen, dass das Gesundheitsverhalten eine vermittelnde Funktion zwischen der Persönlichkeit und dem Gesundheitszustand einnehmen kann. Abschließend wird ein heuristisches Modell als Grundlage zur weiteren Erforschung der Zusammenhänge zwischen Persönlichkeit, Gesundheitsverhalten und Gesundheit über die Lebensspanne vorgestellt.
