Zusammenfassung
In photochemischen Reaktoren wird die Aktivierung von Reaktanden durch die Bestrahlung des Reaktionsgemisches mit geeigneter Lichtquelle (UV-Strahlung, sichtbares Licht, verschiedene Wellenlängenbereiche) erreicht, indem zumeist organische Verbindungen optische Strahlung absorbieren. Dabei wird die Kinetik der ablaufenden Reaktionen wesentlich durch die Intensität des Lichtes und die Wellenlänge bestimmt. Bei der Auswahl und Auslegung von photochemischen Reaktoren kommt neben der Festlegung der Bauart und Größe des Reaktors auch der Dimensionierung und Anordnung sowie dem Langzeitverhalten der verwendeten Strahler eine besondere Rolle zu.
