Zusammenfassung
Das Unfallrisiko in den einzelnen Disziplinen des Alpinsports variiert sehr in Abhängigkeit von objektiven Gefahren, Sicherungsmöglichkeiten und der persönlichen Risikobereitschaft. Beim reinen Sportklettern sind die objektiven Gefahren allerdings gering. Verschiedene Untersuchungen der letzten Jahre konnten zeigen, dass die meisten Verletzungen beim Sportklettern Überlastungsschäden sind. Dennoch kommt es immer wieder auch zu schweren, teils tödlichen Unfällen. Betrachtet man die einzelnen Verletzungen, stehen Verletzungen und Überlastungserscheinungen der Hand und hier v. a. der Finger im Vordergrund. Die Ringbandverletzung ist die häufigste akute Verletzung, die Sehnenscheidenentzündung der Fingerbeugesehnen die häufigste Überlastung. Schulterverletzungen nehmen in den letzten Jahren zu. An der unteren Extremität finden sich v. a. chronische Schäden durch die sehr engen Kletterschuhe sowie Knie und Muskelverletzungen durch „kneehooks“. Bei Kindern finden sich immer wieder atraumatische Ermüdungsfrakturen der Finger.
