Zusammenfassung
Die Digitalisierung durchdringt alle Bereiche der Lebens‐ und Arbeitswelt. Sie ist der Motor ökonomischer Wandlungs‐ und Entwicklungsprozesse, gleichzeitig verändert sie das soziale Miteinander. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird auch das Unternehmensengagement von der Digitalisierung erfasst: das bedeutet neue Formen von CSR, veränderte CSR‐Kommunikation und neue Akteure aus der Digital‐ und Internetwirtschaft. Im Kontext der nachhaltigen Stadtentwicklung ist die Digitalisierung zudem eine zentrale Komponente für aktuelle Herausforderungen und neue Entwicklungschancen. Welche Rolle spielt CSR in der digitalmodernen Stadt und welche Rolle übernehmen dabei Unternehmen der Digitalwirtschaft? Den Weg dorthin und einen Einblick in diesen Themenkomplex soll dieser Beitrag eröffnen.

Der Geograf Erik Swyngedouw stellt mit dem Konzept der „Glokalisierung“ diese Komplementarität von Globalisierung und Lokalisierung begrifflich dar.

Es sei darauf hingewiesen, dass die Übersetzung des englischen „social“ mit dem deutschen „sozial“ oft zu Missverständnissen führt, die durchaus instrumentalisiert werden. Mit „sozial“ im herkömmlichen Sinn hat die geläufige und falsche Übersetzung nichts zu tun. Es handelt sich bei „social“ vielmehr um die formale Beschreibung einer bestimmten Art der Kommunikations‐Infrastruktur.
