Zusammenfassung
Die Wiederherstellung von Haut- und Weichteilgewebe, funktionellen Organeinheiten oder Extremitäten stellt den rekonstruktiven Chirurgen nicht selten vor unlösbare Aufgaben. Selbst das Ausschöpfen des vollständigen Armamentariums der konventionellen rekonstruktiven Chirurgie vermag nicht immer ein zufriedenstellendes ästhetisches und/oder funktionelles Ergebnis hervorzubringen. Das junge Gebiet der Composite TissueAllotransplantation gibt uns hier ein neues Werkzeug in die Hand, mit dessen Hilfe es uns bereits gelungen ist, Hände oder Gesichter zu transplantieren. Aufgrund der vielsprechenden Ergebnisse ist die Composite TissueAllotransplantation Gegenstand sehr aktiver Forschung, deren größte zukünftige Herausforderung die Entwicklung einer Taktik zur Vermeidung der Gewebeabstoßung sein wird.
