Zusammenfassung
Etwa 30–50% der Patientinnen und Patienten entwickeln im Lauf einer Krebserkrankung psychische Symptome. Sie weisen jedoch meist kein „klassisches“ psychisches Störungsbild auf, sondern leiden neben körperlichen Beschwerden auch an psychischen Begleitsymptomen. Etwa 5–10% aller onkologischen Patientinnen gehören einer psychosozialen Risikogruppe an und benötigen neben der medizinischen Versorgung eine professionelle psychologische Behandlung. In zahlreichen Studien konnte nachgewiesen werden, dass psychologisch-psychotherapeutische Interventionen die emotionale Stressbelastung von Krebspatientinnen reduzieren und ihre Lebensqualität verbessern können. Das Behandlungsspektrum ist vielfältig und reicht von akuter Krisenintervention, psychologischer Einzelberatung, klinisch-psychologischer und psychotherapeutischer Behandlung, Rehabilitationsberatung bis hin zur Angehörigenberatung und Sterbebegleitung.
