Zusammenfassung
Für das Überleben in einer zunehmend turbulenten Unternehmensumwelt sind für KMUs die frühzeitige Identifikation, Bewertung, Entwicklung und Umsetzung von disruptiven Innovationen entscheidend. Zwar können KMUs Innovationen nicht immer wie gewünscht umsetzen, da oftmals Budgetrestriktionen und eine überschaubare Finanzkraft entgegenstehen, das Konzept des Corporate Entrepreneurship bietet KMUs jedoch einen ressourcenschonenden Ansatz, um diesen Herausforderungen mit Hilfe eines systematischen Innovationsprozesses zu begegnen. Dabei erfordert insbesondere die Limitation relevanter Ressourcen auf Seiten der KMUs bereits zu Beginn des Innovationsprozesses ein strukturiertes Vorgehen. Auch die Diffusion des Innovationsprozesses in das gesamte Unternehmen und die Etablierung einer Innovationskultur helfen KMUs, ihre Potenziale auszuschöpfen. Dabei tritt an die Stelle von Perfektion und Gründlichkeit ein feedbackorientierter und kundenzentrierter Produktentwicklungsprozess. Dieser ermöglicht die Entwicklung von innovativen und kundenspezifischen Lösungen, und fördert die Sensibilisierung für die geschickte marktspezifische Positionierung der KMUs, um einen direkten Wettbewerb in einem tendenziell margenarmen Massenmarkt zu vermeiden.
